Amir's Falafel
Broadway, between 114th and 115th Sts. (212) 749-7500 A long-standing favorite for a quick Middle Eastern falafel and the like. Inexpensive and good.
Burger King
110th St. and Broadway. The great American burger chain. Good for collecting toys.
Columbia Bagels
Broadway and 110th St. (212) 222-3200 Go directly to Columbia Bagels, do not pass GO, do not collect $200. No seating.
Famiglia Pizzeria
Broadway and 111th St. (212) 865-1234 Serves delicious pizza. If you like spotting famous people go and see who has eaten there in the past.
The Hungarian Pastry Shop
Amsterdam and 111th St. (just across from the Cathedral) (212) 866-4230. A favorite spot for the famous, the studious and the neighborhood die-hard. Serves croissants, cheese brioche, pastries and desserts, plus a large selection of coffees and teas, both hot and cold.
Koronet Pizza
Broadway between 110 and 111th Sts. (212) 222-1566 Serves a slice so big that if you strapped one on each arm you would have, well... they're BIG. Very good pizza, nevertheless.
Mike's Papaya
110th St. and Broadway. (212) 663-5076 You can get 2 hot dogs and a papaya drink for $2.
Pinnacle Pizza

Strokos
Amsterdam between 113th and 114th Sts. (212) 666-2121 Nice deli and seating area
Tamarind Seed
Broadway between 115th and 116th Sts. (212) 864-3360 Heath food deli and salad bar. Also carries an assortment of herbal remedies. Dining area upstairs.
The Wrap Factory
Broadway at 111th St. Serves burritos and wraps, and has 'gourmet' wraps, but if you are into that, don't try the shepherds pie.

Bengal Cafe
Amsterdam between 110th and 111th Sts (212) 662-7191. Standard Indian food, they serve Indian Sunday brunch.
Caffe Taci
Broadway and 110th St. (212) 678-5345. An Italian restaurant famous for its Opera Night, wherein opera singers belt out their favorites over dinner. Note: Some find the overpowering voices inspirational; others, just plain overpowering--caveat emptor! CASH ONLY, NO CHECKS.
Caffe Pertutti
Broadway and 113th St. (212) 864-1143 Well-done Italian fare, with good bread to go along. Large selection of desserts, for after-dinner or to go. Try the Eggplant Sorrentina... CASH ONLY.
Camille's
Amsterdam and 116th St. (SE) (212) 749-2428 Lots of pasta, with an Italian twist. Burgers are worth trying, too.
Columbia Cottage
Amsterdam and 111th St. (212) 662-1800 A Chinese restaurant, also with Shanghai menus. Another well-regarded eatery. See if they still serve free wine.
Deluxe
Broadway and 113th St. (212) 662-7900 Another of the new crop of restaurants on the Strip, this faux-diner's service has improved dramatically in the past 6 months.
Dynasty
Broadway and 110th St. (212) 665-6455 Another busy Chinese restaurant, perhaps a notch above Ollies in taste and decor. Has lunch specials, plus the steamed sole is very good.
Le Monde
Broadway between 112th and 113th Sts. (212) 531-3939 This bistro has a great wine list; the outdoor area is a great place to see and be seen. Oh yeah, the food is great, too.
Nacho Mamas
Broadway between 112th and 113th Sts. (212) 665-2800 Mexican food. The wings are worth revisiting. The Margaritas are the real draw, and rightly so. Occasional DJ parties on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Ollies
Broadway and 116th St. (212) 932-3300 Poised at the main gate, this Chinese spot is always busy. Solid, if unremarkable, Chinese fare. Eclectic assortment of non-Chinese favorites.
Symposium
113th St. between Broadway and Amsterdam. (212) 865-1011 This incredibly long-standing restaurant serves Greek fare. Mixed reviews for the food overall, but the good items are REALLY good.
The Heights
Broadway between 111th and 112th Sts., above Samad's Deli. (212) 866-7035 Great addition to the strip. Inside and rooftop dining area, and a nice bar. Excellent brunch menu, to boot.
Mills Korean Restaurant
Broadway between 112th and 113th Sts. (212) 666-7653 The only Korean fare on the strip, quite good, especially the inexpensive lunch menu.
The West End
Broadway between 113th and 114th Sts. (212) 662-8830 Another bar posing as a restaurant. An old Columbia stand-by, once frequented by the famous Beat Crowd gang in the 1940s. Favorite of undergrads, especially Greeks.
Tomo Sushi & Sake Bar
Broadway and 111th St. (SE) (212) 665-2916 Newish (and only) sushi place on the strip. Reviews range from quite high praise to barely disguised scorn. Try it once and judge for yourself.
Tom's Restaurant
Broadway and 112th St. (212) 864-6137 The quintessential American diner. Featured in Seinfeld and in a rather good song by Suzanne Vega. Unpretentious food, fast service, no better recommendation.
V&T Restaurant
Amsterdam between 110th and 111th Sts. (212) 663-1708 Family style Italian restaurant; their pizza gets rave reviews!
